-The Prologue for 'Town's" epic Visual
In 2048, the Epra Virus wiped out 75% of the world’s population. Survivors took to the streets when clean water became scarce and electric stopped working. The earth as we once knew it, transformed into a jungle. A small alliance formed between two clans that was eventually strong enough to contain 90% of the world’s population. This powerful coalition was known as New Xopa.
NX, as they were known, formed the Epra survivors into 121 factions across earth’s vast surface and designated faction control to trusted politicians and generals within the NX coalition. The people of the factions grew frustrated with the new law and revolted at which point NX was over thrown and each faction was left to govern themselves.
Trenton County slowly began raising livestock on their southern border in pens they called “caves” which were meant to stay hidden from the summit, but once the Summit got wind of this, they felt betrayed and broke the alliance. Trenton County leader, Govon Weslen, met with Summit leader, Adrix Coba on neutral ground. They discussed terms, which Coba didn’t agree to at the least bit and without hesitation, stabbed Govon in the middle of the gathering. His men proceeded to murder the rest of the caravan that came with Govon. This meeting was known as “The Quake” and from then on, war was declared by both sides.
As stated before, Faction 12 was much bigger than Faction 31 and had very experienced fighters. Boys were trained from an early age and being in the Summit military was not a discussion, it was required by all males. This is why they were feared. Adrix led his faction through Trenton County killing everyone in his sight. He soon realized he needed the minds of some of the Trenton County people and began capturing engineers in order to keep a steady stream of new machinery for the Summit.
Some Trenton County people hid their faction colors and markings and fled to neighboring factions such as Harrish Ridge (Faction 119) which was a faction of water workers that had various villages along the miles of embankments. Others, like Daric, were trapped in the territory. Most were killed. It was a genocide. Neighboring factions bulked up their military's to prepare, but there were few in the region that could stand up to Allegheny Summit, even if they allied. All they could do is helplessly watch…
….that leaves us to present day earth. 2085.
The idea for the 'Town" album had been in place for quite some time, but the visuals and importance of color came much later...
As I began to create the script and treatment for the song "Swing", which depicts an apocalyptic era in which the remaining earth dwellers have been divided into factions by a tyrannical government known as New Xopa (or NX). I began creating the characteristics of each faction; What kind of people they were, their morals, their economy, things like that. As I expanded on Faction 12, known as the Allegheny Summit Faction, they began to take over as the story's main focus. They were identified with red markings.
After putting so much time into creating, not only an epic composition, but a visual that took 8 months to come to fruition, I was content on creating a parallel with the video and the meaning of the 'Town' album.
So i took the red "12" from the Faction 12 insignia and gave it meaning to the project...
The “12” on the album cover represents me as a Sagittarius, being that I was born in December. The red surrounding the 12 represents power, love, war & energy, which are commonly associated with the color. The red circle containing the 12 is located in the middle of “TOWN” which represents where I have experienced the content of the album. Love for another, lust for power, inner-war and the energy to accomplish the impossible. It all happened in the little town I grew up in.
-A brief back story on the dispute in the north region-
In the vast wilderness that was once known as North America, the extinction of Faction 31 is almost eminent. The Alleghany Summit Faction not only launched a full scale invasion, but quickly reverted to barbaric violence as they moved through the Trenton County landscape.
It wasn’t always like this. There was a time when the factions may not have liked each other, but certainly couldn’t prosper without one another. Trenton County created machinery that was essential for the Alleghany Summit people. Being that Alleghany Summit had an abundance of livestock, there were certain things they needed from their neighbors that increased output and improved efficiency, such as agricultural machinery and systematic technology for slaughter houses and collection barns. Faction 12, in turn, would supply Trenton County with food, dairy and limited livestock.
The issue began to arise, when the Summit leaders refused to allow Trenton County to acquire their own livestock supply through trade which they would breed for sustainability. They said it would make their export less important and as livestock would grow in Trenton County, the summit people would lose the bulk of their economic success which would affect prosperity for the mountainous people.
One of the last known survivors of the Trenton County faction scrambles through the back country as members of the Allegany Summit faction are closing in on him. Daric has been behind Trenton County boundaries since his birth. Disagreements over land and trade sparked an ongoing dispute between the two factions for quite some time which eventually led to violence.
Being much more vicious and merciless, Allegany Summit members swarmed over the boundaries of Trenton County killing every person in site that bore the Faction 31 markings. The carnage became known as the red war. Any faction member that got in the way was taken captive or executed. The killings became almost ritualistic for the Allegany Summit Faction and over time, hunting Trenton County members grew into a way of life. Their aim was extinction. Daric was the last one left, and the summit folk would stop at nothing to have his head. This footage shows the last known survivor of Trenton County, Faction 31 and his fight to stay alive...
